Enduro Bureau Analysis

  1. Stew Baylor Jr. (Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki) opened up his winner’s account by taking the overall victory at the inaugural GNCC Talladega, overcoming brutal mud conditions to beat out Grant Davis (FMF KTM Factory Racing Landers) and Craig DeLong (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing).

  2. XC2 Pro rider Davis remains in the overall lead of the 2025 GNCC season with 56 points, which gives him a three-point lead over Ben Kelley (FMF KTM Factory Racing) and a four-point lead over his teammate and fellow XC2 Pro rider Gus Riordan. It’s early in the season, but the trio of KTM riders are starting to build a gap over the field, with Kailub Russell (AmPro Yamaha) and Mike Witowski (Phoenix Racing Honda) leading the rest of the pack with 43 points each.

  3. Rachael Archer (Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki) took her second win of the season out of three starts after a disappointing (to her) P4 at Wild Boar last week in Florida. The defending WXC champ is now leading the class, but Korie Steede (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing), Brandy Richards (FMF KTM Factory Racing Landers) and Tayla Jones (Phoenix Racing Honda) aren’t far behind. Steede is the only WXC rider to have landed a spot on the podium in each of the first three rounds, a great sign of consistent racing that can lead to championship seasons. Canadian rider Shelby Turner (Enduro Engineering / GasGas / FXR Moto) didn’t have the comeback from her DNF at Wild Boar that she wanted with a P6, but she certainly isn’t out of the running for the overall yet. Look for Turner to keep challenging for podiums and wins as the season progresses.

  4. Defending GNCC champ Johnyy Girroir (FMF KTM Factory Racing) had a disappointing P11 overall at Talladega after he took the win at Wild Boar where he seemingly erased the memory of his disastrous first round at Big Buck where he finished out of the points entirely. He was running in 2nd place in XC1 at the white flag, just 5.075 seconds behind Baylor after coming back from P6 on Lap 1. Girroir was visibly frustrated as he came through the finish, yelling and hammering the rev limiter as he came to the line, and continuing to hammer the rev limiter all the way back to his team pits. He now sits in P7 overall with 40 points, 16 back of Davis. It’s not time for Girroir to panic yet, but he will definitely be looking for a top-3 result at Round 4’s Camp Coker Bullet to get the train back on the tracks.
